What is my estimate based on?

We charge by the hour. The estimate is based on the inventory list you provided (not weight), as well as distance between your move from and to locations.

What happens if I have more or less items to be moved?

If there are less or more items, the move will take less / more time than estimated. The size of truck used for your move is also determined by your inventory. Please let us know if you need to add items, so that we can make sure to send out a truck big enough to accommodate your items.

How will you pack my tv?

We require all TVs to be boxed.

Do I need to pack lamps?

+

It is best for all items to be boxed up (if you did not select packing services). The crew can help with packing, and if needed custom make boxes for them. Additional fees may apply.

Will the movers take a lunch break?

The crew would not take any breaks.

Can you move plants?

+

We definitely can, they however should not be watered ahead of your move date. Since there is really no way of protecting them while in transit, some clients prefer to move those ahead of time.

Is there anything the crew can not move?

We unfortunately cannot move propane tanks, firearms, or flammable items. All liquids being moved should be closed and boxed. Items of unusual value are items that are worth more than $100 per pound such as fine china or jewelry. One Big Moving Co. is not financially responsible for items of unusual value if they were left in dressers, drawers, etc. and were lost during the move.

Can I leave my drawers full, and tape them shut?

We would ask for all drawers to be emptied, the crew would then wrap them leaving them in the dressers / cabinets. This will make the move safer, and leave your furniture in best condition.

Will my furniture be wrapped and disassembled by your crews?

Yes. We do disassemble and reassemble the furniture, as needed. The crew will wrap all items, prior to loading the truck. Moving pads are provided free of charge, for same day use.

What is shrink wrap needed for?

We recommend wrapping upholstered and leather items in shrink wrap, for better protection. We charge $30 per move.

What form of payment do you accept?

We accept cash and credit cards.

Do you offer storage?

Yes, we do offer both short term, and long term storage.

Am I able to cancel or reschedule my move after booking?

We ask for a notice of at least 48 hours ahead of time, to cancel or reschedule a move. There would be no penalty fees.

What happens if an item is damaged during the move?

One Big Moving Co. provides a maximum liability on your shipment of $0.60 per pound per article, not to exceed $100 per article. One Big Moving Co. also provides coverage of up to $8,000.00 while your items are in transit; there is no charge for either coverage. Keep in mind; we do not offer replacement coverage on your items. We recommend contacting your insurance agent to see if moving damages are covered in your policy.

Please also note that One Big Moving Co. is not responsible for items packed and boxed by the customer and is not responsible for appliances, electronics, or other mechanical devices that are not proven to be in working condition prior to being moved.If any fragile items are to be moved, please mark the boxes clearly and bring any such items to the attention of the moving associates.At the destination, we recommend that you check each item as it is moved. If any damage is noticed, please bring it to the attention of one of the moving associates so that a damage claim may be completed.
